Lindy Hop Showcase - Register Now!

Routines must be a minimum of two-minutes and a maximum of four-minutes in length. Competitors select their own music. This is a no-holds barred competition. All lifts, drops, aerials, airsteps and acrobatics are allowed.

Lindy Hop Classic (non-showcase) - Register Now!

Competitors will display their choreographed creativity without aerials, air-steps, acrobatics and lifts in this division. “On the ground” moves (such as drops, slides, and splits) are allowed. Competitors will select their own music. Routines must be a minimum of two-minutes and a maximum of four minutes in length.

Lindy Pro-Am - Register Now!

Pro Leaders will dance with their Amateur follows. Pro Follows will dance with their amateur Leaders. Only the amateur will be judged. Routines must be a minimum of two-minutes and a maximum of four minutes in length. Music to be selected by competitors.

Solo Charleston - Register Now!

This is a solo American vernacular jazz dance contest. Dancers must include Charleston variations and may also include black bottom and vernacular jazz movements. Dancers will dance to music selected by ILHC in the preliminary rounds. The finals will be danced in a jam format to a live band.

This division will be for Lindy Hop routines of 3 or more couples. Competitors will select their own music. Routines must be a minimum of three-minutes and a maximum of four-minutes in length.

This will be a social dance competition open to all levels. Dancers register as couples and will dance to music selected by ILHC. The finals will be danced in a jam format to a live band.

This will be a social dance competition open to advanced dancers who compete at a high national/international level. Dancers register as couples and will dance to music selected by ILHC.

This will be a social dance competition open to anyone that has placed in the top five at the following qualifying events

Qualifying Events:

ILHC Champions Strictly, Showcase, Classic and Invitational  OR

• Camp Hollywood, Pro Lindy Division
• Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, Lindy Hop Battle
• Boston Tea Party, Invitational Lindy Division
• Camp Jitterbug, CJ Couples Division

• European Swing Dance Championship, Invitational Strictly Lindy

or other competitions determined by the organizers. Dancers register as couples.

Invitational Strictly Lindy

This will be an Invitational social dance competition open to dancers determined by the organizers.

Competitors 17 and under. Competitors will display their choreographed creativity in this division. Although allowed, aerials are NOT required and will be judged on difficulty, execution and timing to the music. Judging focus will be on dancing. Competitors will select their own music. Routines must be a minimum of two-minutes and a maximum of four minutes in length.

SPECIAL NOTE: CALL TO ACTION!!! As part of ILHC's work with the Frankie Manning Lindy Hop Legacy Fund and the Lindy Hopper's Fund, we are sponsoring several groups of youth to attend and compete at ILHC. Many of these kids are from economically disadvantaged communities and as part of the Fund's mission we want to help spread and continue Lindy Hop in these communities. Several of the ILHC instructors have offered to donate their time to give the Junior Division their own special track of classes at ILHC so that they can get to know, interact and inspire each other. This year we will have Juniors from several US cities participating in the program. Expenses for tuition, travel, accomodations and meal costs are either partially or fully sponsored based on need. Leaders and followers will be randomly drawn to dance together to several songs of varying styles and tempos, but will be judged as individuals in the preliminary rounds. Dancers selected to dance in the finals will be randomly assigned a partner again, but will be judged as a couple as they dance in a spotlight format.

Invitational J&J

This will be an Invitational social dance competition open to dancers determined by the organizers. Leaders and followers will be randomly drawn to dance together to several songs of varying styles and tempos and judged as a couple as they compete in spotlight format.

Competitors are not allowed to dance with “regular” partner (one that they dance and/or have competed with in a choreographed routine in the last 4 years, Team routines do not count) Social dance partners are accepted and will be considered “luck of the draw”.

Slow Dance - Register Now!

This will be a social Slow Dance competition open to all levels. Dancers register as couples and will dance to music selected by ILHC and will be between 80-110 BPM.  The finals will be danced in a spotlight format.
