Enjoy a multi-generational discussion sponsored by the Black Lindy Hopper Fund “Lindy Hop Black HERStory” – featuring Barbara Billups, Crystal Johnson, Amaniyea Payne, Mickey Davidson, Shirley Duncan, Laura Jeffers, Tena Morales-Armstrong, Dee Daniels Locke, Julia Loving, and moderated by LaTasha Barnes and Marie N’diaye.

Sweet Potato Pie will be served.

Beverages will be available for purchase at the venue!

There will also be an assortment of Frankie Manning posters, totes, bags, buttons and signed copies of “Frankie Manning Ambassador of Lindy Hop” for purchase (while supplies last)!

Originally built as the Alhambra Theater in 1905, it began as a vaudeville venue, eventually showing movies and opening an upstairs ballroom hosting legendary performers such as Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday. Reopened in 2003, the Alhambra Ballroom now hosts weddings, parties, and various events. The energy that had existed years ago when many legendary performers could be seen on a frequent basis, is still ever present in the Alhambra Ballroom.
